We’re currently supporting The Trussell Trust via Work For Good, a platform which helps connect businesses and charities, taking care of the legal barriers to make it easier for charities to receive their donations.
Who Are The Trussell Trust?
The Trussell Trust are a UK charity who provide emergency food and support to people locked in poverty. With a nationwide network of more than 1,300 food banks, they provided 2,986,203 emergency food parcels between 1st April 2022 and 31st March 2023 – a huge 37% increase from the same period in 2021/22. Over 1 million of these parcels were distributed for children.
Their vision is for a UK without the need for food banks. The Trussell Trust recognise that ending hunger is about more than food – it’s about not having enough money for the essentials. Which is why their food bank centres also provide practical support and advice to help tackle the root causes that can often lock people into poverty, offering people in crisis compassion and dignity.
How We Can Help
People are at the heart of what The Trussell Trust do – whether it’s their thousands of amazing volunteers, the communities surrounding their food banks, the people who rely on them for support or other organisations, like us, who want to help make a difference – we can all be part of the change.
The Trussell Trust’s 5 year strategy focuses on how we can work Together For Change. Changing communities, changing policy, and changing minds. Creating a future without such large-scale need for emergency food distribution, and increasing awareness, empathy and understanding amongst the general public.
