Glucomannan: The Natural Fibre That Can Support Weight Loss

When it comes to weight loss, there’s no one approach that suits all people. While popular options like Fat Metabolisers and GLP-1 injections have delivered great results for many, others prefer to explore more natural routes. Weight loss is often spoken about in black and white terms - “just eat less” “just exercise more” do these comments sound familiar?

In reality, it’s not really that simple. A big part of the journey is shifting your mindset and building a healthier relationship with your goals. Once that clicks, you can start setting realistic targets and working towards them in a way that feels right for you. That’s where Glucomannan can support you. It’s not as widely known as other supplements, but it’s a natural option to support your weight loss journey and helps you feel more in control.

What Is Glucomannan?

Glucomannan is commonly found in supplement form, powder mixes, and even added to certain food products like pasta and flour. It’s also the key ingredient in shirataki noodles (which is a popular low calorie option). Sourced from the root of the elephant yam, Glucomannan has been used for centuries in traditional dishes such as tofu, noodles, and konjac dishes.

🌱Did you know? The plant that glucomannan comes from produces one of the largest flowers in the world, and can reach up to 4 feet tall![1]

Who Can Use Glucomannan?

Glucomannan is generally suitable for most adults looking to support their weight loss goals or increase their fibre intake. However, it may not be suitable for everyone. The main important thing to note is that it’s for adults only. Glucomannan is not recommended for children unless advised by a healthcare professional. Also, check with your GP If you're pregnant, breastfeeding, have existing medical conditions, or are taking medication (especially for blood sugar or cholesterol).

How Does Glucomannan Work?

Glucomannan is known for its impressive ability to absorb water .It can quickly turn a full glass of water into a gel-like substance. Once consumed, it behaves similarly in your stomach. As the fibre expands, it helps you feel fuller for longer, which can naturally lead to eating less. As it’s a soluble fibre, Glucomannan may also slow down the absorption of protein and fats, supporting your weight management[2]. Plus, it acts as a prebiotic, feeding the friendly bacteria in your gut.[3]

How Do I Take Glucomannan?

For our Sealions Glucomannan Capsules:

Step 1 - Take two Glucomannan capsules. Take the capsules 30 minutes before your meal – ideally before breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Step 2 - Swallow the capsules with one to two full glasses of water. This helps the capsules reach your stomach safely

Step 3 - Repeat 3 times daily. For best results, take this dose three times a day, before each main meal.

For other branded capsules or supplements, please ensure to read the instructions carefully according to the packaging.

What if Glucomannan Isn’t For Me?

If you find it difficult to swallow capsules or tablets, don’t worry. Glucomannan is also available in a powder form, which may be easier to take if preferred. Alternatively, you might want to explore other options for weight loss support. Our customer favourite Fat Metaboliser Powder is a great choice. It’s designed to support lipid metabolism, boost energy levels, and help reduce feelings of tiredness and fatigue.
